Privacy Notice
How We Use Your Information
M-Cubed Research Consulting Ltd ("M-Cubed", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website and by email, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
In short: we collect very little. If you sign up to hear about our research paper, we use your email address for that and nothing else – we'll only ever email you twice. We do not sell your data, and this website does not use cookies to track you. We count visits with cookie-free analytics that show us totals, never individuals.
Who We Are
The data controller is M-Cubed Research Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15533698, registered office 41 Black Rod Close, Hayes, Middlesex, UB3 4QL.
For any question about your data, contact Michael Saunders at metford@m-cubed.consulting.
What We Collect and Why
1. Research paper updates. When you use the "Get an email when it's published" form, we collect your email address.
- Purpose: to email you when our journal paper is published, plus at most one follow-up. That is all. We send these emails ourselves; your address is not added to any marketing list.
- Lawful basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us.
- How long we keep it: until we have sent those emails or you unsubscribe, whichever comes first, after which we delete it.
2. When you email us. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
- Purpose: to reply to you and, where relevant, to discuss working together.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract.
- How long we keep it: only as long as needed for the conversation and any resulting work, and in any case we review and delete old correspondence at least every two years, unless we must keep it longer for legal or accounting reasons.
3. Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit.
- Purpose: to deliver the website securely and protect it against misuse.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- How long we keep it: for the hosting provider's standard log period, after which it is deleted automatically.
4. Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the website is used. When you load a page, your browser sends Cloudflare basic information about that visit: the page you viewed, the page that referred you, your browser, operating system and device type, how long the page took to load, and your country, which Cloudflare works out from your IP address.
- No cookies, no profiles: it does not use cookies or other storage on your device, and does not fingerprint or follow you across visits or other websites. We only ever see totals – for example, how many people read a post, or which countries our visitors come from – never information about you as an individual.
- Purpose: to see which pages are useful and improve the website.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how our website is used.
- How long we keep it: Cloudflare keeps these statistics for its standard retention period; they do not identify you.
- Your choice: if you would rather not be counted, you can block
static.cloudflareinsights.comwith a content blocker, and the website will work exactly the same.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies, and nothing is stored on your device to track you. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to send the font files to your browser.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and mailing list, who act on our instructions:
- Website hosting and the sign-up form: Netlify, which hosts this website and stores the email addresses submitted through our sign-up form
- Website statistics: Cloudflare, which provides our cookie-free visitor statistics
- Email: Titan, provided through WordPress.com, which handles our email
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong;
- ask us to delete it;

- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email metford@m-cubed.consulting. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
